Rachel Hallenbeck Teacher Award

Rachel Hallenbeck was a music educator in Braintree for 30 years where she started as an Elementary Music teacher and moved her way up to the Director of Music K-12 and Braintree High School’s Director of Choral Music. Rachel loved being involved with SEMSBA and served as a leader in almost all facets of the organization including president, treasurer, secretary, conductor, and festival host. Her sudden loss in 2019 was a huge shock to the Braintree Music Department and the community at large. At her last SEMSBA executive board meeting, she discussed starting a teacher of the year award. SEMSBA honors her dedication and service by naming the award for her.
